Todd G Poling, President
Prior to founding Vantage Point, Todd was Managing Director of CBIZ Valuation Group,
Inc., spending several years each in the firm’s Dallas, San Diego, and Los Angeles offices. While at CBIZ, he managed large and complex valuation consulting engagements focusing heavily in the transaction arena. He participated in numerous engagements involving corporate restructuring, initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, ESOPs and fairness opinions. In addition, he provided valuation consulting in litigation support situations and served as an expert witness in both deposition and trial settings.
Before joining CBIZ, Todd served as General Manager of ADR, Inc. a start-up manufacturer of drapery hardware and other fabricated furniture products based in Dallas, Texas. Today ADR, Inc. is an internationally known leader in its field with over 150 employees. He began his career with Arthur Andersen & Co.
Todd graduated from the University of South Dakota with a B.S. in Accounting and earned an MBA from Southern Methodist University. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the San Diego Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), the Advisory Board of the San Diego State University Entrepreneurial Management Center (EMC), and the Board of Directors of both the Alumni Association and Foundation at the University of South Dakota.

Cheryl Bostater, Principal
Cheryl Bostater brings an expert’s view to business valuations and merger & acquisitions. For 15 years, Cheryl has helped private early-stage and closely-held companies in many industries determine the value of their equity and close transactions. Her experience includes: CFO of a solar energy company, financial modeling and analysis, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and IPOs.
Cheryl has valued businesses and partnerships for: estate and gift tax purposes, marital dissolutions, corporate and partnership buy-outs, financial reporting, mergers & acquisitions, and private placements. While her valuation work has been across many industries, she has particular industry expertise with CleanTech and Hi-Tech companies. Cheryl has conducted seminars on various valuation topics, and has served as an expert witness.
Cheryl was the co-founder and CFO of a public company, Open Energy Corporation (now Applied Solar), a pioneer in building-integrated (BIPV) solar roofing products. While at Open Energy, Cheryl developed financial and strategic plans and business models; prepared 10K’s and 10Q’s, and prepared board of director reports, budgets, forecasts, and dashboards. Prior to Open Energy, Cheryl specialized in valuing businesses and partnerships for a variety of purposes. In addition, she spent three years as an investment banker with broker/dealers, specializing in micro-capitalization public offerings. She later headed up the equity research department for one of the broker/dealers, specializing in: ERP software companies, telecom devices, ISPs, and specialized hi-tech companies. Cheryl began her career as a digital circuit designer for Xerox.
Cheryl earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA in Finance (ranking in the top 10 percent of her class,) from Loyola Marymount University. Through her continuing education efforts, she was awarded an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) designation in Business Valuation by the American Society of Appraisers, and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation by the CFA Institute. |
